CAFE GITANE

NYC is a very big city...naturally i was overwhelmed and a little lonely when i first moved to the big apple all on my own! It took me at least two weeks to track down the best place (or any place at all) to get some vegemite let alone an australian accent!

So as soon as a friend of a friend introduced me to Cafe Gitane in Soho, an australian cafe that not only had australians working there but had an absolute killer avocado and chilli toast i was addicted! It became my sanctuary on a Saturday morning! It was the local hang spot for all the Aussies living in New York...our very lovely Jessica Hart was always a regular.
